Walk of Honor
A pilgrimage in search of roots,
healing and truth
Walk of Honor is a memoir that offers the wisdom of an ancestral pilgrimage undertaken by William Timothy Walker, between December 2012 and February 2013. The 1300 km walk from North Carolina to Beamsville, Ontario, was initiated by a calling to walk into the unknown to claim his name and honor his lineage and to leave everything behind to do so.
Walk of Honor shares the unfolding truth of his journey and invites readers to listen to their own longing and find and follow their own truth through guided exercises. The story is both personal and transpersonal. William offers wisdom for the human journey based on his own experience through the language of different spiritual traditions and practices, archetypes, ancestral wisdom, the unconscious, nature mysticism, and his philosophy of life.

“I began to have the feeling that I just needed to let go, to abandon the structure of my life and place my trust in the unknown. I needed an open space, an open landscape, and then a new way — my own pilgrimage — would emerge.”

Stories of Sovereign Man is a collection of stories, poems and accompanying illustrations inspired by a lifelong desire and ongoing exploration of what it is to be a man.
This quest has led me to seek out experiences, resonances and intimacy with men, the world, mystery itself, in unconventional ways and to find brothers, mentors and teachers in unexpected places.
Stories of Sovereign Man celebrates encounters with remarkable men, places, entities and my own soul that initiated me on my human journey and that show diverse facets of what a man can be.

The harmony you seek
Is neither in the depth of winter
nor at the apex of spring
There is a wisdom in you
That rides a path
Between the extreme truths
Of grief and inspiration
When winter comes
And when spring comes
When hints of spring begin to sing
Go to the forest and ensure the decay is complete
And when leaves of autumn fall
Ensure each everlasting breath has been taken
The Noble Material
I worked in demolition and renovation for some time.
One day I was stripping a floor of decades of tiling down to the raw wood and I was struggling. The tiling didn’t want to come off and the task felt purposeless.
My boss came to see me to see how the work was going. I told him the tiles were a pain in the ass to remove.
He said, “it’s important to get the tiles off because we want to get to the noble material.”
My heart melted.
